Chromium OS
Okay, I was drunk last night, so I gave Chromium OS a go.
I used ThePirateBay build though. There’s also a gdgt build.
They both are virtual images, if you don’t know how to operate a virtual machine,
follow this TechCrunch guide on how to get Chrome OS running on Sun VirtualBox.

If you’re too lazy to download and run the build, just read this post, you won’t miss much.
When you first boot up Chrome OS VirtualBox, you’ll hit this login screen:
And what do you use to login with? Your Google Account of course!
Voila! You get a browser!
The first thing I noticed was the “LAAAAAAAG!!!”,
I used the same settings that got Ubuntu 9.10 running smoothly with Chrome OS.
But I don’t blame them, this is an early build. And this is on VirtualBox.
The early public builds of Chromium OS is meant for Netbooks.
I’ve read somewhere that the hardware will have to be “Approved” by Google though.
This is the about page, the OS seems to be a bit newer than Google Chrome’s current version (4.0.249.4 on my machine)
Ah, the glorious menu. Clicking on each item will get you a new browser tab.
Hopefully Google will get a lot of partner, and get the “Get More…” button working soon.
The “change” link, will eventually get you to this page.
Although I could get Chrome OS running on my VirtualBox,
I couldn’t get it to read Thai, no matter how much I tinker with the settings
Well, I hope that the very next builds will be more like this:
Although I totally believe that Google will make Chrome OS nice,
I still doubt that it will fare better than Ubuntu Netbook Remix today.
